    A Treasure!

    My phone is a late Apple model, and yet, even now, it throws out a vibe of “embarrassment” when I place it in my new Otterbox Defender from Turtleback. I sense jealousy here. Hard, ungiving plastic pressed against fine, soft, supple animal hide, obviously, a worthy competitor to the finest Crocodile leather on the planet. If my Defender could talk, I am sure it would shout out, “look at me, I am Quality!” Frankly, at first, I was hard pressed to use my new Defender. It looked so precious in its protective packaging that I felt it almost a sacrilege to disturb this presentation. Imagine me, owner of a mere iPhone, now as “one” with craftsmanship unparalleled in the fiercely competitive category of mobile phone carriers. On many a sleepless night I toss and turn with that ever-present question pounding in my head: “Did I make the right purchase decision here?” Amazon, E-Bay, Google, present literally hundreds upon hundreds of receptacles designed to hold a mobile phone. Why Turtleback for me? Why this exquisite piece of leather crafted to my phone’s exact dimensions? Price? Perhaps. A smidge more than I was initially willing to spend, but something about that heavy-duty “clip”, or maybe the rugged appearance of the entire unit’s tough-looking, no- nonsense design, swayed me. Or maybe, it was my fond remembrances of Turtleback Zoo in West Orange, NJ, where my children frolicking about so many years ago, that tickled my subconscious, and was the deciding factor.
