    Best holster

This holster is ideal for law enforcement work. If you’re running or struggling with someone, this holster makes sure that your radio stays put. This is by far the best holster I’ve seen on the market.

Turtleback Radio Holder - Motorola APX 6000Li

My department, Western Kentucky University Police Department, has been looking to replace our current radio holders for our Motorola APX 6000Li portable radio. We purchased one of these holders to test. The product has three different snaps that helps to hold the radio securely in place. The rotating belt clip fits snuggly to the duty belt and the swivel design helps to keep the radio from moving about. The officers in patrol love the design, and are anxious to receive one.

    Great Product

I was recently issued a Motorola APX 6000 by my agency. I was initially pretty dissatisfied with the lack of available duty holsters for this radio. I attempted to use my previous "universal" one, but I didn't like the fitment at all. I purchased a specialized one for it soon thereafter, and although it fit the radio, it did not work because the "quick disconnect" connector I use for my microphone and earbud got in the way of the holster and the way it was intended to work. I am pleased to say this holster is practical, it looks clean, and it fits snug. It works with my current connector and setup. I bought a "J-clip" for it initially and used it, and I don't have any complaints. It's an easy way to use the holster without having to take apart your duty belt. I just took apart my duty belt and put on the permanent belt clip (I couldn't distinguish if it would fit a 2 1/4" belt initially). The belt clip looks like it will work just fine. I'm opposed to the velcro belt loop for some reason, and it appears the J-clip is a better option, as it attaches to the belt in a similar way and it looks cleaner. I like that the ability to rotate the holster with the radio as part of it, and remove it, because removing the radio from the holster to charge the radio isn't so practical with this set up. As pictured, you remove the radio and holster from the clip on your belt, and with the bottom part of the radio exposed, you can charge it without a problem. Removing the radio with ease is also practical for those areas where radio reception is poor and you have to remove your handheld from your belt to get reception... This is a great setup, and I would certainly recommend it to other LEO's for duty wear. My only complaint is all my other gear on my duty belt is basket-weave, and this one obviously isn't, but I'm willing to overlook that based off this holster's initial quality and functionality. Good job.
